Wonderful, Wonderful

Everything about this experience was more than I expected.  Amy and her husband, Bill, were extremely easy to connect with as we were getting dates to rent Casa Parota.  Amy was always prompt in getting messages back to us with our questions about the house or the area. Very helpful and kind.

The car upon our arrival was exactly where it was supposed to be and we were very happy to have a safe and big car for the week.  A great benefit to this house rental.  The house itself is gorgeous.  The pictures look exactly like the house.  The condition of the house is spotless and clean.  Fully stocked.  Good beds and bathrooms.  The pool and garden area were breathtakingly beautiful.  All the sitting areas were used!  We sat on the deck upstairs for sunrise and sunsets and used the patio during the late afternoon for a cool down swim.  The BBQ worked out wonderfully when we did cook but we LOVED having the option of Lupita, the delightful house chef.  She is amazing and her disposition is very sweet and kind.  I highly recommend her.

We loved Sayulita and Playa D, as we called it.  La Cruz was an easy spot to pick up fish, get Tacos in the Street and go to a few Blues Bars.  Excellent music in La Cruz and it's so close to the house.  We shopped at the Mega grocery store but really I think you can pick up most everything you need in La Cruz.  A lot easier and more fun to be close to the "village life."

The weather was perfect, no bugs at night.  We enjoyed the friendly neighbors surrounding the house and felt comfortable asking questions about the area.  Very nice people.

We loved our stay at Casa Parota and look forward to another week of paradise in the future!  Thank you Bill and Amy for sharing your beautiful home!  We understand why you love it there so much.

What a perfect spot!

We had the BEST time and the CASA made it perfect.  The space of the Casa was GREAT and each couple having their own room and bath the privacy was wonderful.  We were able to get cabs easy to head into town for dinner or shopping --and a FANTASTIC restaurant almost next door at La Palma (Vallarta Gardens) - best meal on the trip.  The pool was exceptionally clean as well.  We really chose not to leave but hang at the pool most days!  But there are many close and easily accessible places to explore within walking or bus.  The beach walks were fun - and never felt anything but safe.  Our CASA owners made available to us all amenities needed to complete our trip - private cooks too.  We have been telling all our friends that they need to go --and we are already checking dates to head back!  Thank you thank you!!

Hi Amy,

Just got home from PV at 1 AM yesterday morning.  Spent yesterday unpacking etc.  Didn't want to let another day go by without writing to thank you for everything.  Casa Parota more than met our expectations.  Everyone in my group comes from a rural town in northern California and so very much felt at home at Casa Parota.  Each morning we set off on adventures around the PV area.  In the mid to late afternoon we would head back to Casa Parota to swim, read, rest, etc. before heading back out for the evening.  We felt like we do at home after returning from the hustle & bustle of a day in the city - so private and peaceful!  The staff were all so timely and friendly, too.

Obviously, too much to do in a one week stay, but we managed to pack in a lot at a comfortable pace.  A visit to Sayulita and the beautiful beach Destiladeras were highlights to the north.  We also spent a fair amount of time exploring the local scenes in La Cruz and Bucerias.  Found the fun scene at the local beach area of Manzanilla (north end of La Cruz) where all the Mexican families were hanging out.  Had a great grilled fish lunch there.  The restaurants in the local area were very good too.  Mark's, Meson Bay, Famar's, and Karen's Place for Sunday brunch were all great.

To the south, we marveled at the zoo.  What a great place.  Very unobtrusive by American standards but the animals were wonderful and so VERY accessible to visitors.  You can get so close to them.  We were feeding grass to the jaguar by hand thru the fence grates, hand feeding camels, goats, zebras, flamingos, dropping peanuts into the hippo's mouth and so on.  They also had a place for anyone to pay a fee and then directly go into an enclosure to handle the big cat cubs.  The day we were there we watched two young mexican boys in with a 4 mo old jaguar cub who gave them a run for their money!  This zoo has the most successful big cat breeding program in the world.  Anyone with children should add this visit to their "must do list".  After the zoo we paid a $250 peso per person fee to spend the rest of the afternoon at the Mismaloya resort called La Jolla de Mismaloya using the pool with free bar drinks and access to the beach.  That night we ate at Barcelona Tapas in PV before heading home.  It was great but it is more expensive.  Beautiful setting & view.  Great service & huge selection of truely gourmet tapas with top notch Sangria.  We got in without reservations but I think we just lucked out.  I would suggest making reservations, especially during high season so as not to be disappointed.

Also took the day trip to Las Caletas with Vallarta Adventures.  I had a wonderful massage there and the seafood Palella buffet was very good.  We also swam and took a sea kayak trip to another beach.  We also booked the Zip Line trip with Los Veranos and it was really fun.  I am terrified of heights and can't believe I actually did it, but it felt so safe and secure.  The restaurant there was really good.  One of our favorite meals.

One final note, the car and the new Mega Super were both wonderful to have.  Spent a fair amount of time with both.  Well, I need to head for the gym this morning to start my battle of the bulge after all that good food.  Thanks again for everything.

Hi Amy:

I am one of the 6 lucky women who just spent a terrific week at Casa Parota.  I just wanted to say thanks - it is a truly lovely spot and you have done so much to make it welcoming and relaxing.  We really could not have had a better week.

Hi Amy, Bill,

I didn't have the time to thank you for the great time we had at your house in Puerto Vallarta!  Everything went perfectly and we had with us great family/friends.  Weather was perfect and after four days nobody wanted to go back to work!

This is our second trip to your house, we will go back in the near future.

Hi Amy,

Well we've been back 2 months now and basically hit the ground running as soon as we got back to work.  Believe it or not, I started this email in July but we've been so busy with the business found it hard to finish it.  However, needless to say our two weeks at Casa Parota were wonderful.  If anyone has any doubts about staying in your villa they needn't worry.  It is everything and more than featured on the website.  The rooms were wonderful, the pool fantastic and all the extras made it a perfect holiday.  Having the car meant we could make our own holiday adventures and had so many trips to different towns and beaches.

If any of your guests are looking for thrilling adventure then they must try Wild Canopy.  It can only be described as exhilarating.

San Francisco beach has to be the best.  The soft yellow sand and brilliant green backdrop make it the perfect day at the beach.  Limited restaurants on the beach so bring a picnic or eat in the town there are a few nice family owned restaurants just before you get on the beach.  You should still bring supplies with you like water and snacks etc.

Loved Mark's Restaurant in Bucerias.  We never made it Pipi's so we'll have to try and come back next year.  My husband’s nephew who stayed with us has not stopped telling everyone he meets about how fabulous it was.  In short I'm sure the whole of England knows about Casa Parota by now.

Thank you for a fabulous holiday and be sure we will be recommending your place to all our friends.

Kind regards,

Amy, your rental was outstanding.  We traveled with four adults and two 2.5 yr-olds and everyone was very comfortable.  Specific items we appreciated were:
- house location that was close to everything (we were able to get gringo food and local food at the WalMart in PV) but still very private and quiet (we were not looking to share our vacation with 1000 strangers);
- a really good bed in the master suite (others may also have been good but I only slept on one bed);
- a complete kitchen with small touches like an ice shaver (good for snow cones for the kids and maragaritas for the adults);
- a car in great condition that held us all (including child car seats), including clothes for 8 days;
- a BBQ that made eating a breeze;
- a COMPLETE book of things to do, places to eat/shop, contact numbers just in case of emergency,
- resource down there (property manager) to help with the little things (we finished the propane so he got it filled up);
- a housekeeper that did a great job!

Our standards are very high and the house was perfect. We can't think of anything we'd change. Thanks again...

We couldn't have asked for a more special holiday! The men played golf at different courses all week.  The ladies laid around the pool - soaking up the sun and the margaritas - what could be better.  The cook fixed delicious meals - we especially liked her ceviche and shrimp/beef/chicken fajitas.  What a treat!  Thanks for memories to last a lifetime!
